When I first read the FiltaFry advertisement in the franchise magazine I felt this would be a business that would be well received in Adelaide, due to the lack of what I believed to be satisfactory competition within the market.
After reading the disclosure document and discussing the system with other current franchisees, I believed that this was something that was not only new to Adelaide but also had the potential for long term return. My original aim was to start with one van and build the business to a position where I could employ my first operator (this I thought would take approx 12 months). My next step would be then to continue to grow the business until three vans were operating with my territory.
I have just employed my first operator after seven months of operation, not only has it grown a lot quicker than I expected but the support to reach this level has also exceeded my expectation. FiltaFry has continued to improve the operating systems throughout this time and have always shared these improvements with me. Business development support from
the Franchise Support Manager has also continued well beyond the initial three months.
I have found the whole experience to be very rewarding.

Since becoming a franchisee in August 2002 I have found the back up support given by the staff at Abbots Road Head Office to be of great help to me in building up my franchise.
Their help with following up new leads of potential customers & corporate caterers are a great benefit to any franchisee.
The staff are all friendly and helpful no matter what the problem may be. The back up support has been an added bonus in building & securing my business with Head Office servicing my customers at one stage, when I was unable, due to health problems in the family.

I have been a FiltaFry franchisee since August 2003. When researching the idea of buying into a franchise system, I was looking for something innovative, which provided a much-needed service to customers. FiltaFry is operated via a unique system, providing a cooking oil filtration service to those within the hospitality and catering industries. We also supply our own brand of cooking oil, at a reasonable price.
Since I bought my business, my expectations have been surpassed. I have received strong support from Head Office, starting with training and initial set-up, and continuing with day-to-day advice and supplies only a phone call away.
FiltaFry franchisees provide a quality service to their customers, at a slightly higher price than our competitors, however our system is far superior and our customers recognize that. As the leaders in our field, with such advanced technology at our disposal, the results are impossible to beat. All FiltaFry operators wear a standard uniform, making us easily identifiable. Our vans display the corporate colours, and our logo and brand has become well respected. I have understood the need for a smart corporate identity, following my 15 years’ experience as a caravan park operator. I learnt back then that the key to business success starts with presentation, closely followed by results.
